Such a beautiful example of “as above, so below.” I love the meaning you derived from the experience with Sandra. I have always known that “you matter” and “everything you do matters.” Thank you for a beautiful confirmation of that.
The Meiko/Sandra mirroring gave me chills — especially the “not being able to breathe” piece and then the shift once love was actually received. Also: the reminder that we deflect love like it’s a hot potato… painfully accurate.
Thank you for your comment. I went back and read my post again as it has been a few years now since I wrote it. Meiko has passed and is buried on my parent’s land with a tiny headstone, and Sandra and I are no longer practice partners. She ended our meetings rather abruptly…but not for quite some time…which was one of those practice opportunities for me. I continue to practice taking in the care that people have for me. Today a friend left a message that I have been missed on a group call I usually join and I really let myself feel that I mattered to him. It was beautiful. I started reminding myself of other similar recent experiences. So I feel gifted by your comment and the reminder of that moment with Sandra and Meiko and how much all these things matter. I see you are writing on similar topics and am glad to be connected on this transformational, and often challenging and exquisite journey.
Oh, a great cat story AND great insights. Loved the part about your friend not wanting to talk, you filling the air, but realizing she didn't want YOU to talk so much. These human Catch 22s are so interesting to dissect.

Thank you Betsy. It is the dance of life and we all need confirmation at times, including me ❤️.
