Thank you Katy. I am familiar with Marshall’s work (thanks for the link!) and was fortunate to study with him in person a few times. I also have learned a lot from my focusing friends, some of whom studied with Gene Gendlin. And still, at times, when communicating with people, I feel It can be a minefield out there. I find techniques can only get me so far. If people desire to vent, they often will do so. Then I have to take care of myself…observe the situation, assess the feelings and needs of those involved, and go from there. ❤️

Techniques can only ever be guidelines. If we humans are anything, it's unpredictable...
